I previously posted pictures of my 2007 pumpkin display, so today I'm making it a yearly tradition by posting a picture of this year's ghoulish arrangement. I was thinking of all kinds of different scenarios to set up in the front yard when I happened to look at my gas grill and got the inspiration. The pumpkins were hard to cut, as thick as I've ever seen. Although it doesn't really fit in with the "grilled heads" theme, the 3-eyed pumpkin that Casey carved this year quickly became an all-time favorite of mine, so I had to include it. And although it's hard to see, check out the bottle of bar-b-cue sauce next to the unhappy head on the left.

Halloween Pictures
Enough with boring Halloween decorations! I've decided that this is a good holiday to let part of my "shadow" side emerge, so I've begun arranging pumpkin tableaux that have a bit of an edge to them. It started in 2005 with the following scene that shows a pumpkin in one of Gina's old lab coats sawing into the head of one victim and drilling into the head of another, while a decaptated head spilling guts from its mouth rests on the ground:I skipped last year for personal reasons that you don't get to know about (say please).
This year I set up two scenes. The first involves two perpetrator pumpkins working over a victim by sawing its head and attaching battery cables to his chest:The second scene shows a buried victim about to get his head run over by a lawn mower:
Thanks to my kids for carving excellent evil and horrified expressions, and to my neighbors. I notice not as many moms are walking their young impressionable tykes past my house these days.
